The Island of Hawaii or “The Big Island” is the largest of all eight
main Hawaiian Islands, with a land mass greater then the remaining
islands combined.
The Island of Hawaii is built from five different volcanoes, Kilauea,
Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, Hualalai and Kohala. Here you will find 11 of
the world’s 13 climate zones.
This is the birthplace of Kamehameha. The island of Captain Cook. Kona
Coffee. The Paniolo of Kamuela and Parker Ranch. Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park and so much more.
Today the Big Island’s economy is built around tourism and agriculture.
It is one of the most affordable places to own a home in the entire
State. As of the 2000 census the population was 148,677 and the Hawaii
County General Plan estimates that by 2020 the island resident
population could reach 217,718.
The Big Island of Hawaii is an enchanting and engaging place for many
people from all over the world. From the beautiful white sand beaches
of the Kohala Coast to the Hot Ponds of Kapoho, there is nothing quite
like Island of Hawaii.
